(Hendersonville, 06/19/08) — What could be nicer than a walk on a summer morning? How about an early guided historical tour of the Druid Hills neighborhood? This Thursday, July 3 hike will be held at 9:00 a.m. Starting point is Patton Park, right off Highway 25 in Hendersonville. We'll be meeting near the basketball courts. Joe Poole will be leading this hike, and talking about some of the historic homes and locations on the Druid Hills route.
Aimed at senior citizens but open to everyone, we invite you to come enjoy a nice walk in a beautiful neighborhood. Canceled in the event of severe weather.
"Hearing tales and details from from Joe Poole, who was born and raised in this historic part of Hendersonville, is a real treat." says local project manager Sam Lovelace.
This walk is one of a series of monthly walks in the Hendersonville community co-sponsored by and Walk Wise, Drive Smart, Diamond Brand Outdoors and ECO.
