Cummings Cove Golf Course, off Hwy 64 West, 8 miles from Hendersonville. Obtain a Player’s card and play and ride 18 holes for $25 from Sept. 28 th – October 1 st. Call 891-9412 for tee times and state that this is part of Active Aging Week.
Ho Sin Sool Dojang, on Hwy 64 West just past Horse Shoe, 1 and ¼ miles past Horse Shoe Post Office – in same building with The Produce Company. 281-0246 Tai Chi was developed in China more than 300 years ago as a martial art but has been used to improve fitness and health in individuals of all ages. Tai Chi is a series of movements of low to moderate intensity with beneficial effects on strength, flexibility, breathing, and balance.

This class is held in the warm, shallow waters of our Therapy pool, which provides an excellent exercise avenue not only for those suffering from arthritic joints, but also, for anyone wanting to enjoy a fun, low impact class. YMCA of Henderson County, 6 th Ave. West . 692-5774 Get Started, a class geared toward beginners and basic level participants. Friendly on the joints and challenging to the entire body. Strengthen the cardiovascular system, muscles and bones. 30 minutes of low impact floor aerobics (including a warm-up) and 20 minutes of basic strength training.
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the hips, legs, pelvis and lower spine. Yin classes include a variety of simple restorative postures, each held for 3 – 5 minutes. This type of yoga offers safe and gentle poses for beginners to advanced participants. Yoga emphasizes standing and strengthening yoga poses with flowing posture. Recommended for beginners as well as those with experience. All classes include breath control, physical postures, relaxation, meditation and positive thinking. Yoga can help relieve stress, lower blood pressure & bring peace of mind. Strength for Daily Living - Seated fitness class for older adults to help build strong muscles, improve balance and increase flexibility. This helps to reduce aches and pains, increase bone mass, improve daily functions, all while having fun! Perfect for those new to strength training.
HI/LO - 30 minutes of shallow water, low impact aerobic conditioning and 30
minutes of shallow water upper and lower body strengthening
exercises. Beginner to advanced participants. Water Arthritis Class - Nationally recognized program developed by National Arthritis Foundation and YMCA. Water walking and range of motion exercises
to increase mobility, flexibility, balance and endurance. Great for
those suffering from arthritis, orthopedic conditions, back pain or new
to water fitness.
WOW(Workout in Water) - 30 minute shallow water aerobic conditioning, 30 minutes of upper and lower body toning and strengthening. Beginner to advanced participants.
